"Hello you spiritual savages!" Elder Gordon
So I moved from Stoughton (near madison) to West Allis (right near Milwaukee, haha it is basically Milwaukee) it is awesome here we are so busy all the time.
So one of my first lessons was with Shannon, raj, Callie, and Joan. This family was recently baptized and they are so funny. We had a lesson on the plan of Salvation while this was going on Joan started to cry because she saw a picture of Jesus then Callie . Raj was a crazy person but in a good way. Callie is like 5 and she didn't like Joan crying so she said can I sing for her mom so she starts to sing a cute song then goes over and puts her hand on Joans hand. So Joan stops crying and Callie is very happy now that Joan isn't crying. Then also during this Callie just whips out of nowhere a little orange and an apple at separate times to eat. It was so funny. Probably the best Plan of Salvation lesson ever : )
We have some awesome people we are teaching our Friend David he has a trake in his throat and a prosthetic leg and he us awesome he feels he always has to feed us so without fail he feeds us every time we go over and he is awesome and so humble and ready to learn! He also always makes me laugh
Also we have a Baptism with our friend Travis this week. Pray for him that he can get a ride to his own Baptism: ) the problems in Milwaukee.
Oh man also we talked to a guy who was excommunicated and told his whole story and he wants back into the church. We talked for like an hour and he did all the talking. Also the place he lived at was a maze so he had to find us and he pulled up in his wheel chair with out half of a leg. And he showed us the way to his apartment haha! What a character!
Also last person we are teaching someone with no vocal cords. She literally just lip talks and if we don't get it she writes on her phone. I literally have to pray for the gift of tongues. Luckily there is a member from the parkway ward that is her roommate and she can understand her more than we can. She likes to be called Mama P. They also both have trakes in their throat. Kind of fun
Anyways I've ranted enough. I know God lives! He is in the details of the details of the details of our lives.
Wiscansin culture: so here in Milwaukee everyone is segregated Latinos, Whites, Blacks, it is crazy! There is a bridge called the longest bridge not because its the longest but because it spans from Africa to Mexico. Or from the latino side of Milwaukee to the African American side. Kind of weird haha
